Emails not being sent after upgrade to 8.8.1

Hi there,

I have the following problem: after upgrading from 8.8.0 to 8.8.1, my SuiteCRM is not sending any system emails anymore, such as password resets, account assignments, etc.
However, sending a test email works just fine.

Has anyone had the same problem and how have you resolved it?

However, I see that there is a new outgoing email account of type ‘System Override’ which does not have any credentials.

I know it’s very frustrating. What are your error logs showing?

One fix you can try is to change the system email password to something like 123456, click save, and then re-edit with correct password, click save

That worked for me.

But it will depend on what your actual errors are in the logs.

I had to do this a couple of times for each individual user for it to work again. At the same time making sure that fail2ban of the mail server didn’t block the crm system.

This is annoying and shouldn’t happen with an upgrade.

I use SMTP and TLS, not OAuth.

Unfortunately,that’s only one step in a solution. And I don’t recall all the steps.
I had every single error you can think of in the logs.
I’ve cleared caches, re-did permissions, rebuld, etc.

It stops working, I stumble around and it works again.

I also had this error and worked around this to get the campaigns running again. I wouldn’t have known about this had I not gone through the campaign history as it’s not a log error.
