Unable to Reset Passwor System hangs

Hi I have created a user and 2 things are happening:

  1. The user does not get an Email about their account creation
  2. When I use the Reset password feature I get the followign message"
    System is unable to process your request. Please check: -Recipient Email Address -Your server status
    also clicking the save button seems to do nothing in the add user interface. I have to refresh my browser to find that the User was saved in the syste.

note: I recently upgraded to 8.8.1
Please Advise.

Did you set the correct permission for your SuiteCRM?


Also, check the log files for the issues.

The issues look related to SMTP configuration and some UI caching after the 8.8.1 upgrade. Please check and re-save your SMTP settings under Admin > Email Settings, as upgrades can reset values. The error usually points to missing credentials, port/security mismatch, or server restrictions. For the “Save” issue, try clearing cache or using another browser. Try these steps and let me know, or feel free to share more details.

I have tried both recommendations and neither worked.
I also created a new testuser and it too did not receive and notice of account creation and nor did its reset password function work. And yes, I am able to receive the test email from the CRM system just fine.

Did you assign role to the user from the user management?

So it seems the only way I could fix one of the issues was by Turning off the System Generated password option.

Forgot / Reset Password still does not work.

@ckhts Please check that the Forgot Password and System Generated Password email templates exist and are active under Admin > Email Templates, and also run a Quick Repair & Rebuild from Admin > Repair. If the issue persists, kindly share the relevant error lines from suitecrm.log right after a reset attempt, as this will confirm if it’s a known bug in 8.8.1 or a configuration issue. Once we have that, we can decide whether to patch, roll back, or apply a workaround.

Ok I was able to sort it out I change to TLS and the port so things are all working.
