Suppression - Amazon SES

Hi creativologist,

With Amazon SES, there are two levels of suppression to consider.
First is the Amazon SES global suppression list. If an address hard bounce,s Amazon adds it to this list automatically and will not try to deliver to it again. You do not need to manually remove or manage those addresses.
Second, consider the system you are using to send campaigns. SES will forward the bounce notification to the address you set up, but that is mainly for your own tracking. Most mailing apps or CRMs are expected to process those notifications and then mark the address as bounced or inactive inside your system.
So in short:
SES automatically suppresses hard bounces at its end.
You still need to ensure that your campaign tool or CRM updates its own records so that you are not repeatedly sending to incorrect addresses.
For newsletter campaigns, the same logic applies. SES will block mail to addresses on its suppression list, but you should also have your own suppression or bounce handling rules in the app you are using.

Hey @creativologist , the free plan allows you up to 30Gigs. All you have to do is expand your instance volume. Default volume setup is probably 8G, but you are allowed up to 30G. I just did it yesterday on my free AWS micro install. Plenty of room to install Mautic, SuiteCRM and anything you might need.

I’ve already got both running on 8G lighthouse. I’m only use 9% of the storage so i’m good for a while

I had asked about your thoughts on the email campaigns in 8.9.

@creativologist theres not much there yet. No page builder, the wizard seems smoother in that its all on one page. I still perfer Mautic for the time being. I suspect it will evolve further.
