Where do I contact about bugs/requests?

Some things I have run into: I just upgraded to 7.9.6, PHP 7.1, shared hosted server, Iā€™m using Chrome on Windows 10.

  1. I renamed the CONTACTS module to be CLIENTS, but on the screenshot attached, you can see that the tooltip still says CONTACT. I would expect it to show CLIENTā€¦ I have not checked if this is the same on other modules, but I would assume so.
  2. In the documentation page for the upgrade, stop 16 talks about REPAIR EXTENSIONS. There is no such item on the REPAIR page.
  3. On the REPAIR page, it is my habit to manually go through each step, in order from top down, and finish with the ā€œQuick Repair and Rebuildā€
    a) Is that the preferred order?
    b) results of each test are inconsistent in that they do not all show a ā€œDoneā€ message. And the message is sometimes after any messages, and sometimes a popupā€¦
    c) not all pages have a link back to the Repair page
  4. Ion the ā€œQuick Repair and Rebuildā€ page, I have seen forum posts that talk about ā€œdoing any actions that show up at the end of the processā€. I have never seen any such message. So, instead of me assuming there are none, can we get a message added that says ā€œNo actions neededā€ or something like that?
  5. Open a contact, click on their email address. Nothing happens. I would expect a compose windowā€¦
  6. On the EMAIL page, icons are rendered ā€˜funnyā€™. See screenshot attached.
  7. On the EMAIL page, I see incoming and sent messages mixed together, and no folders. Is that the new approach?
  8. On the EMAIL page, incoming messages are already ā€˜readā€™, before I open them
  9. On the Email Dashlet, I do not see any email messages

Iā€™ll try answering a few of those, but only a few :slight_smile:

You at the right place asking here in the forums. If, after some diagnosis work, something really seems to be a problem with SuiteCRM, it can be reported on GitHub, including all the relevant technical info, error messages from the logs, etc.

You donā€™t need to keep going to the Repairs, and you donā€™t need to do all of them. Basically the only one worth doing often is ā€œQuick Repair and Rebuildā€. The other ones you only use as needed, because problem tells you might need that particular repair. Iā€™ve never tried most of them, not even once.

You can open a specific thread with the Email issues (itā€™s better to break these things up a bit), and please add the screenshots that didnā€™t upload here. If you have trouble with adding attachments here in the forums, use https://pasteboard.co/

There are currently problems with Email in 7.9.x, the next release will hopefully be more centered around solving those problems once and for all. Hopefully :slight_smile:

I donā€™t really advise renaming modules. There are about 100 things in SuiteCRM using the word Contacts, you will get a very disconnected experience with a rename that only affects a handful of those. Sorry, this could be improved, but at the current state of things itā€™s easier to leave their names as they are.
