Hi All,
My small business has been using vtiger for a very short period of time (weeks) and it is ok so far. I just learned about suiteCRM and it looks interesting, however, I cannot find a list of the benefits of using it over vtiger, except that it is a more recent branch from SugarCRM. So, what are the specific benefits of using suiteCRM instead of vtiger, for example, what additional features does suiteCRM have that vtiger does not?
We don’t want to get several months into using vtiger and then realize some critical features are missing and require us to pay for the commercial version of vtiger when we could have switched over to suiteCRM.
Thanks,
Don
I think you already articulated one of the main benefits -SuiteCRM is completely open source - there are no commercial versions … every line of code is open source and always will be. Otherwise I try not to get into benefit comparison - it’s a pretty disheartening place. Suffice to say, SuiteCRM is fully featured as are most of the major CRM suites.

Thank you for the reply. I should have mentioned that we are using the latest free open source version of vtiger. Since it was pretty mature at the time, I assume the latest open source version of vtiger has all of the functionality my small business will need for many years. Can you tell me if suiteCRM includes some critical features or extensions not available in vtiger? For example, it appears there is a “forecast” module in the pay-for version of vtiger that looks interesting – is there a forecast module in suitecrm? Are there other modules available in suitecrm not available in the free version of vtiger?
Thanks,
Don
