After going to user’s profile and setting the order of modules to show on the navigation bar, the order just shows Sales, Marketing, Support, Activities, Collaboration, All, no matter what the order is shown in the Display Modules list. Logging out and re-entering makes no difference. Doing an Admin repair does nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that setting is a legacy setting, for v7. The new v8 menus aren’t affected by it.
So the answer is: sorry, in SuiteCRM v8 there is currently no way to configure that part of the UI from the UI, only from code.
I could be wrong, though.
Making changes to the list does change the order as I indicated which is different from the default. Also, the option to hide modules does work.
This is the top menu on v8, no Sales, no marketing, just module names:
If you’re seeing a v7 top menu on a v8 installation, you’re pointing your web server to the wrong directory (public legacy instead of public) or you don’t have mod_rewrite properly configured. Either way, your v8 installation won’t be able to function properly.
