Upgrading Sugar 6.5.2 to Suite 7.1.8 - missing Layouts?

Hi there,

been upgrading from Sugar 6.5.2 to Suite 7.1.8 using the upgrade-pack provided by this website. The package is called ‘SugarCE Migration 6.5.x to Suite 7.1.8.zip’.

The wizard did a good job, but I am missing my cusomized layouts. The fields created in sugar (marked with *) seem to be there in ‘studio’, but the GUI-section (Detail View etc.) is default without my customizations (drag-n-drop the fields).

Is there a way to do this or what is the recommended way?

Thanks

Please, read the documentation upgrade - SuiteCRM

So the upgrade process is not perfect, some things you need to re configure, like layouts for example

Hello mikebeck,

thank you, I read the documentation but I missed this information.

Can you please provide more details what I should do exactly?
I tried “export” and “import” from Studio, but that did not work.
I have a backup of all .php files (before upgrading). I don’t get where the customizations are stored. Is ist in “root/modules” or is it in “root/custom/modules”?

Which .php files do I have to overwrite to get my customizations back? Or is it just recommended to recreate every layout on my own in the upgraded environment?

Thank you again!

ente

Custom things are located in root/custom/ not only in modules folder but in many other folders, I suggest to you to modify the layout manually. Personally when I migrate from SugarCRM 6.5.13 to SuiteCRM 7.5.3 I did the whole process of replicate a SuiteCRM clean install to my SugarCRM then migrated the data manually just using the database engine
