Upgrading from SugarCRM 6.5.23 to SuiteCRM latest version

I am currently running SugarCRm CE on Apache, Mysql and need to get to the latest version of SuiteCRM using Mssql (2012)and IIS.

What is the best way to make this happen?

I am aware that Apache an d MYsql are the preferred platform, but we are a Mssql house and all our other DB’s are located there.

Make sure you track the necessary platform upgrades as you progress in upgrading SuiteCRM:

Now, some guidelines for you:

  1. your upgrade will have to be done in steps. Check the existing upgraders, and get ready to use more than one in sequence:

https://suitecrm.com/upgrade-suitecrm/

Start at the bottom of that screen.

  1. Don’t mix upgrading and migrating. Treat the two as separate projects. Doing the entire upgrading procedure on Linux has the advantage that you’re using the preferred, more tested platform, for a complicated process.

  2. When migrating, do it between similar versions of SuiteCRM. Now, I am not sure you can migrate existing data to MSSQL without any custom scripting. I’m not sure there’s any single-move way of bringing the whole database across to “the other side”. You might have to move stuff table by table, or fix some discrepancies. You’ll have to try it and see how it goes.
