PHP Version 5.4.37
Absolutely fresh install of SuiteCRM 7.1.5 MAX downloaded from https://suitecrm.com/download today,
followed by upgrade using Upgrade Wizard with file SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.1.x-to-7.2 downloaded today from the same suitecrm.com page,
results in upgrade that ends prematurely with this message in the browser:
Fatal error: Class name must be a valid object or a string in /path/to/include/SubPanel/SubPanelDefinitions.php on line 503
and this error in the sugarcrm.log file:
Sun Mar 8 22:52:01 2015 [2196][1][FATAL] Query Failed: ALTER TABLE aor_fields CHANGE function field_function VARCHAR( 100 ): MySQL error 1054: Unknown column 'function' in 'aor_fields'
This same thing occurred on a development instance of SuiteCRM 7.1.5 MAX, breaking the top menu and both Studio and Module Builder.
Our production instance is also SuiteCRM 7.1.5. MAX, but we’ll delay upgrading that, in case there is a known error in the upgrade to 7.2, or unless there is something the community might suggest to avoid the error.
