Upgrade recommended due to security issue

Hi folks,

I see that an upgrade is recommended due to security issues. I refer to this link

http://www.suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Release_notes_7.1.2#SuiteCRM_7.1.2

I donā€™t understand based on which security bugs this upgrade is recommended.

Also since Iā€™m new to SuiteCRM and Iā€™m asked to administer it what does it mean ā€œUpgraded Sugar to 6.5.17ā€ and ā€œUpgraded Security Suite to version 2.7.4ā€ ?

Does anyone have more details on this?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Hi Alex,

As Iā€™m sure you are aware, SuiteCRM is a fork of SugarCRM CE. The upgrade to SuiteCRM 7.1.2 is advised as SugarCRM CE was updated with important security fixes, which have been added to SuiteCRM 7.1.2. The security suite upgrade is simply an updated version of a third party module.

Thanks,

Will.

Thank you Will,

yes I know SuiteCRM is a fork of SugarCRM, I thought it was done at certain point in time and hence any subsequent forks would be within SuiteCRM itself.

Which third-party are you talking about? Or where can I find other info about this? Just to see if we can better prioritize the upgrade of SuiteCRM.

Thanks again, Alex
