Is there a way to insert custom code to turn a tab into a live link?
I know it’s not designed for that but was wondering if anyone has managed to do it. I tried inserting customCode => inside the detailviewdefs.php but it ignores it

Not exactly what you’re asking for, but might serve your purposes just as well
Add links and custom buttons on top of Detail view
