I’m working on OpenCRMApp, a mobile CRM companion designed to help sales teams stay connected to their CRM and never miss important activities.
The app already supports Vtiger CRM, and I’m exploring SuiteCRM integration as the next step.
The idea is to provide:
Mobile access to CRM records, contacts, leads, opportunities, and activities.
Custom notifications based on CRM data and user-defined conditions.
Follow-up reminders for leads, meetings, and opportunities.
Customer locations and nearby visits.
A mobile experience focused on daily sales activities.
One important concept is allowing users to create their own notification rules directly from their phone, without needing an administrator to configure every reminder.
We’re currently evaluating SuiteCRM 7 and 8 integration
I’d love your feedback:
Would a mobile companion like this be useful for your SuiteCRM users?
Which features would be most valuable?
Are you currently using SuiteCRM 7 or SuiteCRM 8?
This is an early-stage integration concept, and community feedback will help determine what we build first.
Mostly not / only to some extend. I’ve had the existing App for Suite 7 in some projects and I’m working on Zoho projects as well with field sales and mobile app.
And the customers experiences are usually: It’s fine, but often limiting.
If the mobile app doesn’t support all the processes (which differ from company to company), it just doesn’t help much.
Usually, I prefer a clean responsive UI and the standard browser use. Ideally with a PWA sort of option.
Basically all features, that exist already in the CRM. Plus: To have an edge over the responsive version, you’ll need to add more features + a way better UI.
It doesn’t make a lot of sense to use an App of a (responsive) CRM to limit the features.
That would work in well defined projects for one individual company without changing needs / requirements.
A generic app needs to support all features of the CRM (standard users) and needs to be way better than the mobile version of the CRM. Otherwise, there is little benefit of using it.
Stick to Suite 8. Version 7 is a dead end and will be discontinued sooner or later. Additionally, there is an App already for Suite 7.
There are some features which are only supported in Suite 8 (files, file uploads via GraphQL, timelines, email popup windows etc.) and this will only grow.
Suite 8 is the path forward, every company with a Suite 7 installation needs to think about the future rather sooner than later.
