The zip file is missing a manifest.php file. Cannot proceed

Hi,

I’m trying to upgrade 7.10.22 to either 7.10.36 or 7.12.10 (or in fact any version)

I keep getting the error: The zip file is missing a manifest.php file. Cannot proceed
when uploading the upgrade file

I’ve checked that there is a manifest.php file in the ZIP, and it is the Upgrade package, not the full install package

I’ve checked permissions etc, PHP version is 7.3, server is Ubuntu 22.04

Any ideas please?

[SOLVED] It was a permissions issue

I had migrated to a new server and there was an old reference to ‘daemon’ in the config.php, I changed it to ‘www-data’ and it worked fine!
