The contact dashlet does not show the value of the email field

I have noticed that in the contact dashlet the value of the email field is not shown. This from the detail view of an account or a case

I have confirmed that these contacts have assigned mail. Some with email marked as main and others with more than one email

What could be the cause of this behavior?

I too am seeing this on my system, where I am running 8.3.0. The contacts view is failing to display the email address even when it is assigned to the contact, in the view just as shown in the graphic in the above email.

I would appreciate any feedback on how to potentially address this to make it visible.
