I’m trying to set task and user permissions, so when a particular user creates a task. Then only that use can edit the task. Other users should be able to see the task, but only the task’s creator should be able to edit it.
It seems like this should be possible though Roles and Security Groups, I just cant seem to get this setup correctly.
If anyone could get me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
If I assign a record to a user, then it seems that user is the “owner” of that record, as far as security suite is concerned.
Even though the record was created by someone else ?
Is the assigned user, really the owner of records ?
The assigned user is the ‘owner’. The owner can change as/when the record is re-assigned. The created by user is a different user/value stored against the record.
I want to be able to restrict editing and deleting to the user who created a task.
The assigned user can read it, and close it, but should not be able to delete or edit it.
Since the assigned user is really the owner (and not the created user), I don’t think I can do that ?
