Hello Michael,
for target lists, there isn’t really an import option.
After all, you’ve mainly got only name and there to import.
The actual contacts, leads, etc. are related to a target list and can’t be imported via the UI.
Target lists are basically like buckets where you collect segments of your data records.
How that would usually work is:
I’m beginning to see the problem :
this is based on people who are work as stock brokers, realtors, and people that send mailers.
In my universe it’s lead ( just a name and address )
to prospect ( lead that responded to your advertising and you have qualified )
to opportunity is what you qualified them for.
they are a client when closed on the first deal
people can stay a lead for 5 to 10 years before they move on the pipeline.
ouch. the learning curve LOL
Yes - the nomenclature is often slightly different from business to business (or vertical to vertical).
Your real estate - SuiteCRM dictionary could probably be then:
lead = target
prospect = lead
opportunity = opportunity (could be a quotation as well)
client = contact (maybe account)
If you don’t need targets and would be able to work with the status in the lead, that would make your process a bit easier.
And you’d need to look into your process, specifically, when to convert a lead (your prospect) to contact (your client - but could technically still be a prospect in the CRM).
Make sure, to utilize the status fields of the records - they are very valuable for making the “process visible”.
