Syncing calendar pulls ALL users calls/meetings - Why?

I installed the current v2 from github, and on two machines with two different CRM users, I get the same crazy result:

In trying to begin with syncing only the Outlook calendar to SuiteCRM meetings/calls, upon setup, the first think it does is pull over ALL users’ meetings/calls into my Outlook.

Does the calendar sync component rely on Security Suite groups to determine what records to sync? Both these test users were not a member of any groups. I’m trying to understand the behavior, as I’d like to roll this out to users instead of paying for an alternative.
