Suitev8 API unable to search number in E.164 format (+)

Hoping someone has the magic touch.
I have Suite8 installed and Contacts Tel numbers are defined in full E.164 format (i.e. they are prefixed with a +).
Through Basic search this become possible after enabling wild card searched in the config.php file, however when trying to do an API lookup with the Callers number, you get no results found, even though the same number can be found using a search using your browser.

Would anyone know if there is an equivalent setting through API’s that would allow a wildcard search or at least allow the searching of a full E.164 format number…

Or perhaps someone may know if / when E.164 number formats will be natively supported.
