SuiteCRM OwnCloud Integration for Better Document Management

Hi SuiteCRM community,

Many businesses using SuiteCRM manage a large number of documents such as contracts, reports, and attachments. Storing all files directly inside the CRM can sometimes increase storage usage and make file management less flexible.

To address this, we have been working on an integration between SuiteCRM and OwnCloud, allowing users to store and manage documents in OwnCloud while still accessing them directly from SuiteCRM records.

Some benefits of integrating SuiteCRM with OwnCloud include:

  • Centralized document storage in OwnCloud

  • Reduced storage load on the SuiteCRM server

  • Easier file management and collaboration

  • Access documents directly from CRM records

The extension has also been submitted to the SuiteCRM Store and is currently pending approval.

I see SuiteCRM just added external storage options in recent updates. (Owncloud isn’t an option) just wondering what the benefits of your approach are over exending the existing external storage to owncloud?

It helps who are using owncloud to manage their files still continue use it and they dont want to migrate to other services
