SuiteCRM Fail2Ban Tutorial

Hey all, I spent a considerable amount of time researching and putting together a tutorial on how to setup Fail2Ban with SuiteCRM on VPS server. Enjoy! If I’ve missed anything or you have suggestions, please let me know.

This was super cool. Is this on 7.x or 8.x or good for both?

I haven’t tried it on 8 yet, but I’m thinking it should work. It’s not dependent on SuiteCRM, other than the log file containing a failed login record. It’s the server that blocks the IP not SuiteCRM. Just double check the path to the log file is the correct and I’m thinking it should work just fine on 8.

I’m already have fail2ban set up on a debian instance but I’m a little shaky on the setup instructions I used. I’m going to go back through the instruction I have and compare it with yours. Your setup was a very well documented process. I’m going to see if we can port it to debian.

You forgot to add this port (587 smtp submission):
sudo firewall-cmd --add-service=submission --permanent
