Thanks for this release - it brings a lot of desired fixes and things are looking good.

One question about the Mozaik editor:
Is this one being retired? (which would be totally welcome with TinyMCE in place)
In a fresh 8.9.1 installation (and in the online demo), I only see DirectHTML and TinyMCE but after installing the German lang pack, I still see Mozaik as an option and can still use it.

is there any plan to bring back the upgrade wizard? this manual process is a pain for those of us require a less steep learning curve. as of 8.8.1 its missing

Hello,

you’re talking about the UI / web upgrade?

The composer / command line upgrade & maintenance is a trend that I see with several open source systems (Drupal, Mautic, …).
They are getting more complex, that’s just the only direction the IT develops in since decades. It’s users demands, expectations, best industry practice.
2FA, OAuth, headless, microservices, API, etc.

The CLI upgrade has a huge advantage:
It removes issues like browser timeout, upload limits, permissions etc. - there are just less components involved that can cause issues during an upgrade.

The upgrade itself usually takes just 5 - 10 minutes and has to be done a few times per year.

I can see, how the web UI is easier if you’re not working every day on server / CRM maintenance etc.
Overall, I’m really happy with the CLI upgrade. For me, the Suite 7 / web UI always felt like the “wrong way” and quite scary - even though it mostly worked well.

To still add some ideas towards a solution: How about partnering up with a SuiteCRM service provider? You can focus on business / VOIP / call center processes and someone else (I know a capable service provider  SuiteCRM: Consulting, Development, and Integration - Bastian Hammer ) can focus on SuiteCRM maintenance.

Hey Bastian I like that idea, I’ll send you a message .

Will anything on it help with Entra ID (Azure) SAML for SSO? Having all kinds of issues configuring that

Hello Javier,

SAML with MS can be a bit to setup, but it’s working fine after everything is properly configured.

Did you go through the new docs?
