So currently we’ve been using SuiteCRM for many years and have stuck with version 7.6.10 and not upgraded, now as our database has grown our CRM has slowed down a lot and we need to figure out a solution on how to improve. Would anyone be able to tell me if upgrading to 7.13.x would be beneficial for the speed upgrade if there would be one? And how difficult of a task will it be to upgrade from 7.6.10 to 7.13.x and a guide to how if it’s doable or would it be easier to attempt a brand new crm and move the database onto it.
Any suggestions or help would be much appriciated.
If your system is available online on the Internet (as opposed to just inside your LAN) you are in a very, very, serious bad place in terms of security, with that version.
You will see performance improvements especially by upgrading to PHP 8.0. But mostly, you probably need to check your database for overgrown tables and do some clean-ups.

You can use the upgrade packages to move to latest one.
But this needs some technical knowledge as your instance might be on a very old php version.
So with each upgrade you have to check which php versions were added and upgrade to that too.
