Suite CRM 8.2 on Dreamhost PHP 8.0

I’m trying to install Suite CRM 8.2 on dreamhost (shared hosting).
I get to the install page, then get an empty error message after clicking proceed

I would check a couple of issues:

  1. The database user is shown as “suite”. Verify if the MySQL database hosting user should be written like that as “suite”. or the database uses another format like username_dbcrm77
  2. Verify the owner and user are the same ones installing SuiteCRM. For instance if the user is domainuser and the .zip file is shown as root, you need to change ownership. Otherwise you will get installation errors.

Turns out the issue was that I never selected whether or whether not to populate database with demo data. Once I chose an option, it installed.
