SugarCRM 6.5.x to SuiteCRM? Why is this not easier?

So I’m reviewing SuiteCRM again and yet again I’m confused why there isn’t an easier path from SugarCRM. Seems a no brainer. They are your customers to capture considering all aspects are @ end of life (PHP, MySQL and of course Sugar). Isn’t that what you want? More users?

Maybe this lack of up to date documentation is because migration is expected to be a paid service?

Currently provisioning a EC2 instance with php 5.2 for SugarCRM. That’s crazy. Even crazier is that after all these years I cannot just upgrade from SugarCRM 6.x.

Whatever the real reason it means I will keep looking for something else for my clients bailing on sugar.

What difficulties are you finding when upgrading from Sugar to Suite? did you follow the documentation? https://suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrade

in the download section there’s a newer file that can do this for you

best regards

@blakejobs migration is little risky task. we would be able to help you do that… skype mee nazil.nazi or contact via ndlhassan@gmail.com

That’s summarizes my point. There is an “newer file” with no documentation that may or may not make it easier. The documentation itself is years out of date. Make it easier.

Data2CRM offers a migration. How can they do something turnkey but you guys can’t?

Even the SuiteCRM hosted option missing a huge opportunity. You want to grow that then offer “Free Migration” for 6.5 installs. Very few customers are going to migrate away anytime soon once you capture them (as long as software actually performs) so any costs for the migration are quickly recouped.

Come on guys. Years I’ve been following this and it still seems like there’s no traction. If I chose to use a service like Data2CRM I can move to any CRM. Why would I move client to Suite if there are better managed and simpler options for similar price?

Anyone?
