I saw the recent message saying the upgrade is currently from 6.5.20 not from 6.5.22, what does this mean for us running 6.5.22 is there some other way to upgrade or does this mean that basically there is no way that we can upgrade at the moment? Is there a way to export our settings and import most of them into a new suite install? or some other alternative or are we just not going to be able to use suite unless we start again from scratch?
At the moment, you will be unable to do a clean and safe upgrade of your instance to SuiteCRM.
You may be able to copy over your customizations to a SuiteCRM instance via the “Export Customizations” feature found in the Admin > Studio panel.
This will give you a .zip file containing the customizations that you have made to your instance which you could upload into SuiteCRM via the “Module Loader”, found in the Admin Menu.
But due to the differences between SugarCRM CE 6.5.20 and SugarCRM CE 6.5.22, this may have unforeseen issues in both the CRM and the Database and is not guaranteed to work.
So, if you want to attempt this, I would definitely recommend backing up both your SugarCRM instance and your database.
It looks so much nicer, and I’m learning on sugar as I went along, so a lot of my time was trial and error, and not that much actual work, so what the heck, I’m going to keep the sugar as a separate VM and do this as a new VM and will just manually do it all again.
Cheers, oh, you might see a few more puzzled questions from me over the next few weeks
