In Admin -> Email settings when I try to set up an outgoing mail configuration, the following happens:
I enter all necessary information.
I click Send Test Email -----> The email is sent and everything seems fine.
I save
BUT:
If I return to Email settings and click Send Test Mail, I get the error message "Error:The following From address failed: MYEMAIL@DOMAIN
SMTP server error: “REJECTED - Bad HELO - Host impersonating [MYDOMAIN]”.
If I try to enter the SMTP-password again, and WITHOUT SAVING click Send Test Mail , the test email is sent. If I save, I get the above error message.
Somehow it seems SuiteCRM does not save the SMTP-password…
This is a known issue with SuiteCRM, The instance will save the password howwever if you go back into the edit view of the email settings when you click the test Email button it is trying to get the password from the page which clearly is not there unless you reenter it.
This should still work with sending emails as this is a bug with the email settings edit view and not with the functionality of the emails.
I do believe this is a issue with SugarCRM ce as well. This is bug that we do plan to address in the future,
Not sure if you have this option, but I was able to fix a similar SMTP issue by pointing the mail server at my smart host (which was a spam firewall) instead of directly at the mail server. It’s worth a try if you have the option.
I have a similar issue. In my case, I try to send the email either before or after saving the configuration and the error message is displayed Error:The following From address failed: myemail@mydomain.com" Please, anybody from SuiteCRM can help us fix this issue? Any advice is welcome.
