Server returns invalid SOAP fault when updating or importing data via SuiteCrm API

We use a C# .NET program to import and update data into SuiteCRM. This concerns relational data, contacts and complaints (module Cases)
We often get errors while importing or updating data concerning complaints (module Cases):
Server returned an invalid SOAP Fault. Please see InnerException for more details.
InnerException: Element ‘faultstring’ with namespace name ‘’ was not found.

It’s not clear to us where this comes from, does anybody recognize this and have a solution?

You can find the some hint in suitecrm.log and apache error log.
