My Suitecrm is hosted and recently set up. I’ve added and imported data. There is enough now to search.
Yet search turns up nothing, even though I know that the data is there. What am I missing here? Was there a set up to do first?

Hi Mike,
By default, AOD is used for search. This is our elastic/Lucene search module.
You would need to ensure you had your cron job set up and that the AOD Scheduler(Admin -> Scheduler) was active and had run on all data.
If you are having issues and cannot get AOD working, simply navigate to Admin -> AOD Settings and disable.
