Outgoing mail problems in SuiteCRM

SUITECRM Version 7.8.22
Sugar Version 6.5.25 (Build 344)

I have a problem with the outgoing mail, the sending does not work and gives us this general error.

Error:SMTP connect() failed.

Checking the PHPMailer github, I have taken the PHP SCRIPT to test the mail sending.

From the sending SCRIPT, it works correctly but not from SUITECRM. Debugging I have not got any information. I always get that there is no outgoing mail server configured.

Any idea what could be happening?

You have just provided the Internet with your Gmail password.

You should change it really quickly.

About the problem, do you know why the outgoing mail service is working at php script level but not from SUITECRM?

Try to compare with full SMTP logs obtained from within SuiteCRM:

your password will be visible to the internet in this forum, even though you edited your post - because the Forum allows us all to see the Edit History of your post.

So you do need to change your Gmail password anyway.

(you may already know the above - but it doesn’t harm to say it, so that other forum users understand).
