Migrating data into new SuiteCRM installation

I’m evaluating solution options for migrating data from a legacy custom CRM application into a brand new SuiteCRM installation.

The legacy CRM has a MySQL database with several hundred database tables and complex relationships.

Has anyone tried to use SuiteCRM Data Integration for this purpose, or is it only really useful for extracting data from SuiteCRM rather than loading data into SuiteCRM?

Would you recommend Pentaho Kettle/Spoon or Talent Open Studio?

Is it easier to migrate data into SuiteCRM via the SOAP web services or the REST API or directly into the database?

Hi all,

We’re going to try Talend Open Studio and Cloudbee SugarCRM connector and see how it goes.

We’ll also try Talend Data Quality to clean up the data prior to migration:

I’ll update this thread to let you know how it goes when the time comes to migrate data.
