When logging in to a specific user account I find the following:
File perms are set to 777. user is set to www-data. This is on a test server.
Has anyone seen something like this?
These users are only duplicated on the front end.
Looks like you have some errors. You need to check custom folder code carefully.
Just from looking at the screen shots, your users haven’t subsribed to their email inboxes and probably have an email widget on their home screen, thus the two related problems. Just a guess without diving deeper.
