Joomla as customer portal - edit all fields

Hi

I’m still trying to get passed the “Failed to create portal user” error, however as I continue to try to resolve that, I thought I would check that the Joomla component is able to help me achieve my goals …

a) Create portal users for lots of Contacts at once, I wouldn’t want to have to click the “Create Portal User” button 1000s of times.

(I’ve not been able to login as a contact yet so have no idea what this part looks like)
b) Edit the Joomla form (files in the component zip?) so that the contact can edit all their fields of data.
