Items in the Contact's Timeline are not Clickable

SuiteCRM Version 8.1.2
I assume it’s not a bug, but rather not implemented yet feature. I understand you may open items like emails/notes/… inside the Contact’s History subpanel, but unfortunately not in the Timeline, although it is the most convenient place to do so.
Any plans to add this functionality?

You are correct, it is just a feature that has not yet been implemented

I believe there are indeed plans to implement this in a future release, so no need to worry!
