Install HANGS at step 2 license screen

Greetings all…

We are vexed by v7.2.1 new install on server hanging at step 2 - the license screen. We have read and followed install instructions as per file permissions, etc., and have set 256 Mb of memory in php ini for this install program to run… but the odd thing is that Install log reports an error because it’s looking for a file in a directory that doesn’t exist:

aka: ***/ custom / install / ****.php

You may want to check the latest package put together as v7.2.1 release and make sure it has all the files the software requires ?

Please let us know when you’ve got the full package available for download - as we’d like to consider using this 'ware.

SCMG.

Does anyone have a fix for this ???

I am having the same issue here. I’ve managed to fix all the permissions which initially did not pull in the CSS etc but now I am stuck at Step 2. If I look at the Console for errors it looks like there are further permission issues. These permissions are on the Install folder (attached)

The documentation does not seem to mention permission changes on that folder. though (currently set to 700). I am going to change this to 777, run the install again and then check if it works. If it does, I will complete the install and later change it back to 700.

If someone could fill us in on the solution to this it would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Soon as I changed it to 777, refreshed the page, the layout seems better and the next button now works.

I’ve done the suggested advice mentioned above and still have this issue. I’ve tried the install on Chrome and Firefox on Mac and PC. Still no luck.

OK…I did a recursive change of permissions to all directories and got it to work. However, new problems exist but are not related to this thread. For reference only they are:

  • Inability to remove cards on dashboard (clicking “X” doesn’t do anything)
  • instances of “undefined” throughout the platform (e.g. loading windows, email, etc.).
I’ve tried upgrading to Beta 3 to see if this addressed the issues to no avail.

Threads on these issues can be found elsewhere in the forum.
