I want to switch from vtiger to suitecrm. how can I import data from vtiger (leads, contacts, etc.)?
This is a little complicated but definitely can be done.
Create your salesperson and setup your access rights. You can import salesperson data as well but you will need to setup your roles and security suite manually.
Export each module form vTiger into a CSV file.
In this order import into SuiteCRM to prevent any broken associations.
Import accounts first then import contacts contacts. This will let the system link contact to accounts as long as you have an account field in your contact CSV.
Then you can import opportunities, calendar (calls, appt) and leads
If you have salespersons associated with Accounts, contact and other data in vTiger you will need to get the ID from vTiger for each salesperson and change it to the ID in SuiteCRM for that salesperson and replace them in the CSV file.
You can do this in Excel as long as you save it as a CSV. This will let you do find and replace for the assigned user ID.
When you import you will be given a map for each import so you can link the data from vTiger into SuiteCRM(SugarCRM)
Post additional questions you have before you do import here so we can make sure you get it right… however… you can always clean up the database and start over if you miss something. You will be an expert at importing to a new SuiteCRM/SugarCRM.

Hello. Thank you for the great information! I am not able to locate where the assigned user ID exists in suiteCRM. How to I access it?

Export your user list with a report in SuiteCRM.
Make sure you grab User ID, User First name, User Last name so you know who’s id is who’s
