I can search Employees by clicking the Employees module, and on top of the list view, click the Search filter button and enter my search term.
Where exactly were you trying to search?
If you were trying the Global search (top-right of every screen), maybe that will require some tweaking, and I’m not sure if it will work…
That is not the global search module though. I’m talking about the search bar that appears at the top right of all pages.
Ok, can you try the changes proposed in that link I gave, see if you can make it work for Employees module?
Ah, I didn’t see your edit with a link.
Following that, it doesn’t appear. I’ve done similar things before for custom fields that were added, but this is much more annoying.
We’d be ok with either Employess or Users showing (don’t care which).
Well, I’m afraid Employees is a very special module in SuiteCRM, it’s not really like the others, and someone decided it shouldn’t be part of the search. It makes some sense in many cases since when you look for names in Contacts, Leads, etc., you don’t want your Employees mixed up in there.
Can’t you use the search within the module, isn’t it enough for your needs?
While technically that could work, it’s not ideal. We’d like the global search to search basically everything, especially since it already groups them by type (meaning contacts and employee wouldn’t be grouped together).
