I create a release under releases and when i go to bugs and create a bug and try to associate with that release there is nothing showing in the drop down. This is a fresh install

I’ve just tested it - same here.
Probably, that feature hasn’t been fully developed in the SuiteCRM 8 UI.
You could give it a try on the 7 version, I believe I’ve seen this working there quite a while ago.
If you wanted to stick to SuiteCRM 8, you can simply create a custom module (own_releases or so):
And add the relationship by yourself:
and remove the standard fields from the layout via the Studio.
To be honest, I’ve seen this bug + releases feature hardly being used here in the forums and in customer projects.
If you want to track simple bugs and releases, it’s always neat to have all the data in the same system.
If you are doing software development together with a team or so, you might want to turn to DevOps, Jira etc.
Thank you. I can confirm it works in version 7. I have another problem in 8.8 where when an email comes in and it creates a case there are html tags in the description. I have searched and tried the work arounds by updating one of the files and then doing a quick repair. It never worked. Not sure though if those fixes were strictly related to version 7.
