FIXED! Redis Integration – SuiteCRM Flys

I ran into a compatibility issue today after install Redis on our server today for something else, taking out SuiteCRM in the process. I took the red pill and went down the rabbit hole and ended up fixing the Redis Integration and now our SuiteCRM instance is very fast loading and responsive.

How big is your installation, so that this is required? Many users? Very intensive use?

Not big at all, but we try and do more with less. We are building a fairly complex solution with future expectations that SuiteCRM will be a core component.

I don’t have hard metrics but personally I would say it loads 25% faster.

### Issue I installed Redis on our server today for another technology that end…ed up causing our SuiteCRM 8.8.0 to Error 500. Looking at the logs, it was to do with the AUTH with Redis, which we have password protected. There's no settings anywhere in SuiteCRM to add a password or assign which DB to use. Disabling Redis the SuiteCRM worked again. ### Possible Fix The updated file fixes Redis by providing all the options for password security, database selection, serialization, and logging. 1) Replacement file (public/legacy/include/SugarCache) [SugarCacheRedis.txt](https://github.com/user-attachments/files/18999558/SugarCacheRedis.txt) 2) In your config_overrride.php, add this to the end of your file: ``` $sugar_config['external_cache']['redis'] = array( 'host' => 'localhost', 'port' => 6379, 'password' => 'password', 'database' => 0 ); $sugar_config['external_cache_disabled_redis'] = false; ``` 3) Clear cache folder & Do a Quick Repair & Rebuild 4) Check redis-cli by selecting the DB and showing the keys that should now be populating. Once this was implemented, SuiteCRM became very responsive and fast-loading. ### Steps to Reproduce the Issue ```bash 1. Install Redis and enable with password enabled 2. Visit SuiteCRM (Crashed) 3. Disable Redis 4. Visit SuitCRM (Works) ``` ### Context Given the performance enhancement, seeing the Redis settings in the System Settings for easy access would also be nice. ### Version 8.8.0 ### What browser are you currently using?
