File paths in the legacy theme

I am trying to use font awesome in the legacy theme. I have created a theme but when I compile it it puts all compiles styles into the cache folder so my paths are failing. Why does it only put the custom code in cache and not the suiteP?

Is it because I am compiling with sass?

I think it stores customized code and fix to existing code in the custom SuiteP folder.

I don’t know why it is storing in cache only.
