Excessive task being automatically created

I am not a programmer and don’t even come close to claiming to be one… I hired 2 guys to help me with IT for my small business and they ended up talking me into a CRM. I actually really like it and it has helped my business tremendously; however, they turned out to be a disaster and extremely unreliable. Needless to say I had to cut ties with them and now I’m left to try to figure this thing out by myself. I’m having a hard time finding someone to come and help me with the issues I’m having. Is there a network of experts available for hire through this site?

I have tons of questions about this thing… One of them is that a task is being automatically created each time an opportunity is created. Once the opportunity is created and assigned to a salesperson, they create a task to one of their subordinates to complete other things that we have to do to be able to create a proposal to the client. In the ā€œTaskā€ view I have this huge list because the system auto generates the task with the opportunity and then the salesperson creates one for his subordinate. The auto generated tasks don’t really have any information in them either. They are just an unnecessary line item clogging up the task view. I have to frequently go in and delete them all out. I’m sure there is some way to make this stop. Can anyone help me?

Tasks are created in the Workflow module. It can be found under ā€œAllā€ in the navigation. You can go to All -> Workflow and delete any workflow rules you don’t need.
