Enable My Activity Stream Dashlet: clarification

Team, what happens when an administrator Disables the My Activity Stream Dashlet globally ?

1- the dashlet to display the activities is no longer available but activities are still ‘recorded’ ?

2- the dashlet to display the activities is no longer available AND activities are NO LONGER ‘recorded’ ?

I Disabled the My Activity Stream Dashlet as a test 3 weeks ago and Enabled back today, looks like I cannot see the activities occurred in the last 3 weeks.

If the activities of the last 3 weeks are presents / stored, any way to have them ‘streamed’ when I Re-enable the My Activity Stream Dashlet back?

I have not looked into this however I would think that it would not log the activities but the dashlet would still be there if a user was to add it to there home screen.

I could be wrong here
