Emails Module - Relate and View Relationship Options

I have an instance that was upgraded from SugarCRM CE 6.4 to SuiteCRM 7.6 recently.
On the Emails module i can see these two Options.

  • Relate
  • View Relationship

The relate option did a pretty handy job by relating the email to record and hiding it from inbox. That cleans up the inbox.
In the later versions these options were dropped/deprecated. I am looking for the specific Release in which these options were dropped.

How does the Relate work now if i want to relate a received email in inbox with a record. I know the Create/Compose Email has relate but that is for an existing records in modules. What if a received Email from Inbox is needed to be related to a Record to be shown under its History panel.

Does it show in the History subpanel of the Contact? I mean, if you sent it to that contact.

If so, you can edit the email record and access the same “relate to” fields as you see in the Compose Window.

From Emails inbox, i don`t have access to edit the Email. Can you guide on how can i do that for the emails in the inbox.

Will relating to record move the email from inbox and attach to related record as a history item?
