Email Template 8.8.1: Variable’s can only be "inserted" in the Subject not the body

Hi,
I am creating an email template. When I insert a variable with the Body of the email highlighted it on gets paste into the subject. I must manually cut it from their and paste it into the body directly.

Is this normal behavior?

So I have created a Contract and I have linked the insert Variable to the Contract
to get my variables. so wher you have $account_name next to Insert, when I click “instert” it will only insert into the subject line NOT the Body of the template. This is the problem that I am facing.

Still can’t replicate it.

You’ve got your cursor inside your email body.
Then you select a variable and click insert, and your variable is inserted in the subject, not in the body, where you’ve placed your cursor just before?

Can you open your browser console and see whether there are any errors?

And can you try it online, whether you can replicate the same issue online?

SuiteCRM provides an online demo (with a working installation / environment).

If you can replicate the issue there, it could be a bug in the software.

If you can’t replicate it there, it’s most likely an issue with your installation / with your server / with your environment.

As you can see from your console / screenshot, there are a few issues.
I suggest going back to your server / your installation and make sure that your server is properly configured and your suitecrm code / files are not altered.

Look especially into permissions and caching.

my installation was installed on cpanel by softaculous so I had no hand in how it was “Configured” serverwise. I did run though commnds for cache an permission so this is all after the fact errors.

Also I have just tried this in the Demo and the same exact behavior is happening I opened up an new test email template and inserting a custom field only appear to place itself in the subject line . Not the body where there is test. So this is infact a Bug in the software.
