Email settings for Office 365 and GoDaddy hosting

Greetings. I have had no luck getting my email to work with the following settings:

smtp.office365.com
Port is: 587
the from and username email is the same
and is TLS

I get this error:

SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server. Code: 111 Reply: Connection refused
849814][1][FATAL] SugarPHPMailer encountered an error: The following From address failed: xxxx@compositeautomation.com

This setting works for outgoing email:

SMTP server: mail.compositeautomation.com
username: name@compositeautomation.com
SMTP port: 25
no authentication

but the emails go to spam and have the following message embedded:

This sender failed our fraud detection checks and may not be who they appear to be. Learn about spoofing http://aka.ms/LearnAboutSpoofing Feedback http://aka.ms/SafetyTipsFeedback

I’ve talked to the GoDaddy support but no luck. Attached are screenshots of my current settings.

I would be enormously grateful for how to get my Office 365 to work for incoming and outgoing email from inside SuiteCRM.

Thank you in advance.

John

Are you trying to set a different from name than your email address? It looks like your email provider doesn’t allow that.

If you mean the “Name” field I tried that both ways. Both my full name and my email address.

See picture.

I need to either fix this or move onto another CRM. I’ve seen many posts about this issue but no real clear solution and I’m not a skilled programmer so going into the PHP file and editing HTML is not something I think I can do successfully.

Let me know if I should just give up. I’m ready to.

John

you need to provide your SuiteCRM version and system configuration, OS, php version, mysql version, etc. I remember that there was a problem with IMAP and SSL back in version 7.5.X but has been fixed as of today, and for your theme I can’t tell if you have a recent version or not.

best regards

I installed this from Installatron as a service provided by GoDaddy.

From the about screen:

Version 7.2.2
Sugar Version 6.5.20 (Build 1001)

OS: Windows 10

php version: don’t know where to find this

mysql version: don’t know where to find this

How do I migrate to the new version?

Thanks so much Mike. I really like the software and hope to continue using it.

Best

John

That’s an really old version, tons of things have been added and fixed, you need to read the documentation https://suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrade and download the proper upgrade paths

SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.2.x-to-7.3.2
SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.3.x-to-7.4.4
SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.4.x-to-7.6.10
SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.6.x-to-7.7.8

from https://suitecrm.com/download, my recomendation would be to follow the installation documentation since this is a new setup and it will be better for you to start from a recent version https://suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Installation and for compatibility matrix https://suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Compatibility_Matrix, for these values ask your host provider for those information

best regards

As you can imagine, its hosted by GoDaddy. Is there documentation on how to upgrade it in my hosted account? Sorry if that was a dumb question.

John

is not that different, just make sure that they can provide you with the setting is required by the documentation, and I imagine that you have ftp credentials and stuff to upload upgrade files

best regards

Disregard. I’m going to do each upgrade incrementally. Just started the first one. I’ll be reporting back shortly.

Cheers,
John

P.S. BTW Mike, I am humbly grateful for your help. Sincerely mean that.

The upgrade was going smoothly until the end. But it reports the new version as

Version 7.3.2
Sugar Version 6.5.20 (Build 1001)

And it seems to work.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8892 bytes) in /home/aeroflyte/public_html/CRM/modules/Administration/SugarSpriteBuilder.php on line 469

Not sure what to do now. Am I in trouble?

John

I just tried to do the next upgrade and got the same error message so I guess I messed up.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8892 bytes) in /home/aeroflyte/public_html/CRM/modules/Administration/SugarSpriteBuilder.php on line 469

How can I fix this? I have all of my contacts in a csv file and could just start from scratch. Please advise.

Sorry I may sound dumb. I am not a programmer. The GoDaddy guys tell me they don’t support Installatron software and that I use it at my own risk.

John

you don’t have enough ram to address that function in the installation, if you don’t meet the requirements for the installation then you can’t make it, I can suggest to you to install in a local system, it an be a virtual machine, then move the installed system to your host, but this is not an easy task if you’re not familiar with webserver, database, and stuff

best regards

<you don’t have enough ram to address that function>

Is that not enough RAM in my PC or in GoDaddy’s system?

Also, I just uploaded the latest version to my hosted site. Do you think I can install it from there?

Thank you,

John

server side, yes, try to install it, but I’m pretty sure you’ll get errors again

best regards
