Email Issues

Good day all,
I have been working on this issue the past week but still am unable to get the email to function.
I have tried setting up Exchange server as well as using a Gmail account but continue to get this error when attempting to send a test email. “Error:SMTP connect() failed.”
I have scoured the web for some solution, checking permissions, Gmail settings, etc… all to no avail.

Specifications:
Version 7.7.4 Sugar Version 6.5.24 (Build 509)
Hosted on a Godaddy shared server.

You are in a very tight position. PHP Mailer (which SuiteCRM is using for sending mails) has written a dedicated note on GoDaddy hosting.

Please read the above section as they suggest some edits for fixing it for godaddy. They don’t allow any other email SMTPs to send emails using their server.
