Dynamic Dropdown

Greetings,

I have searched the site and forum for instructions on how to use the dynamic dropdown but was unable to locate it. Can anyone explain how to use it or direct me to where the instructions are stored?

Firstly create your drop down (not a dynamic drop down… a drop down) like normal. Please remember the item names and the list field name of the drop down as this will be used later. For example we will use item = “USA” - display name = “US” … and another item of UK - UK. click save once you have finished with the drop down

Then create your dynamic drop down field.

add a new drop down list like normal but then i want you to use the format “USA_THE’NAME’OF’YOUR’VALUE” for the item name. The display name can be anything you want to as normal. Following with this example… lets add some more values to our field “UK_SCOTLAND” THEN “UK_ENGLAND”. Once you have finished doing this return back to the edit view of the field in studio.

I then want you to type in the name of the parent drop down (the drop down field name i mentioned before) so that this dynamic drop down knows where to look for its parent drop down field.

click save and that should be that! remember to add the field to the views on the layout component :slight_smile:
