Don't use the same favicon everywhere

I’m watching Github closely and I see a brand new logo is coming soon, with a brand new theme. Great work!

I’d like to leave a small request: when you make the new favicon (the little icon that shows on the browsers tab), don’t use the same favicon for everything:

• pages on our own SuiteCRM sites
• pages on SuiteCRM’s official site
• pages on these forums
• pages on SuiteCRM’s wiki…

This is the way it is now, and it really doesn’t help when you keep a lot of tabs open and you want to be able to quickly tell the difference between the forum posts and your own CRM screens and everything (graphically) looks the same.

I know I can customize the favicon on my own installation (and I did), but even so. Some people don’t customize. Some do quite a lot of development before they customize that.

It would be nice to just have several variations on the new logo that could be distinguished easily (not too similar). Thanks!

Admin → System Settings → Display module icon as favicon

(If you are in a module with an icon, use the module’s icon as the favicon, instead of the theme’s favicon, in the browser tab.)

but the main favicon remains in home

@mike that’s an interesting option, and I didn’t know about it. Thanks for the tip.

I’m still trying it but it seems I get too many different icons this way… I’m not sure I’ll keep it…

Anyway I think it would be beneficial to differentiate the favicon between forums and running CRM systems so we could find our way more easily when we have both kinds of tabs open (which happens often).
