Data Migration: Import Tasks and History for Organizations, Opportunities and Contacts

Hey old folks,

We’re evaluating and testing SuiteCRM right now, because we want to move from our old CRM system - PlanPlus - to a more feature-rich platform.
We’ve been doing pretty good so far regarding extracting data from the old system and importing it to SuiteCRM demo install.

One thing I came across in the last couple of days was: How on earth would I import all the notes history from the old system to the new one?

I haven’t found a single hint on that one (except for the ACT! plugin, which doesn’t make sense for us since we’re not using ACT!).

Is there a way to import the notes history related to Organizations (Accounts), Opportunities, Contacts and/or even Leads? I couldn’t find any option in the Import Wizard so far and I was wondering if there is any way at all.

Any help is much appreciated!

This is something that you would need to script, due to the difference in relationships/data from one CRM to another.

Could you provide me with an example of how to do that or lead me to resources that discuss this topic? Also, what do you think how sophisticated this will be to implement / how much time would it take to do this on average?
