am new to SuiteCRM… tried with Documentation and searching this forum, but still cannot do what I want… perhaps someone can guide me pls…
How can I create standard emails, which I then can send if needed to my lead(s) ? It seems I can create email with the editor, but I am very confused and not able to send the email to a contact/lead(s) of my choice
Is there a way to create a letter to print (pdf) in a similar way?
Tried for hours now, but cannot do it… I use the newest Suite 7.8.2
You can compose an email directly to a client by going into their record > Activities Subpanel > Compose email
You can also send to your contacts by going into the Email module and clicking the TO box and select your records.
** You can also user target lists and campaigns to send to a mass of records
For generating letter in a PDF format, you can currently create a PDF from Quotes, Invoices, Contacts, Accounts, Leads and Contacts. You must create a PDF template before though in the PDF TEMPLATE module. The click on either Generate Letter or Print PDF depending on the module
followed your advice and found the functionality to send an individual email tool…
also believe In found a bug (using FF)… I have no scrollbar to reach the text field
I think I understood that tzhere is a way to create a standard email “A” with personalization… but somehow couldnt do it, I think I am creating it in the wrong “section”
Activities -> Create Email Template
I dont understand the “Type” differences (“Email”,“Campaign”)
But when I go to Leads -> Mark the Lead(s) -> Bulk Actions -> Emails I end up at the (broken) editor to create a new Email… I dont see my Template
What seems to work is the “Generate Letter” from the “Bulk Action”…
there I see a document I had created (for me the different sections are still very confusing).
Btw.: I wasn’t able to embed an image when creating that “Letter” using the editor
When I use the “Generate Letter”, a pdf is cxreated, and looks pretty good, need some testinmg with salutation though, its double for me
thx…as I said, the user guide is - at least for me - not really helpful… at least the design looks totally different… and as I said I tried studying it, but it at least suspects a level preknowledge about AOS etc I don’t have yet… so it is not helpful for me…from what I read it seems to me many things are outdated and/or the author had pros in mind
it seems you are the only one answering in this forum, and dont think it is fair from to put this burden on you alone
about the pdf template, the editor shows the option to insert images, and right now I would not know how to do directly change the pdf template, and the pdf as I understand is for letters (snail mai)…but the editor is the same for emails…so it seems I have to know some workarounds to get what I want… that is esp. hard for people digging into a software from scratch
so for me this is too confusing and if all that can help me is the wiki, I am honestly lost
so, thank you, appreciate your help, but see that suiteCRM is something that you need a company installin/configuring for you
…no active community
SuiteCRM can be installed by everyone however some prior knowledge of how to do is useful. In terms of the community we have an strong and active community that try help as many other users as they can
In terms of understanding the CRM it is sometimes best to looking into training. However for understanding all the different PDF and email options may take playing around with.
Campaigns are used for sending an email to a mass of records(targets) e.g. Newsletter, Marketing
Emails can be used as you expect
PDF Generation either through a letter or normal PDF can be used as you wish e.g. Through email( in quotes etc there is 3 options Email Quotation, Email PDF and Print PDF) or as normal letters
Screenshots are using the SuiteR theme. That theme is still available however the theme you will most likely be using and is now default is SuiteP.
You can change your own users theme in Profile > Themes
Or the Systems Theme Admin > Themes
Can you pls guide me to what you mean by “changing directly in pdf template” … I worked with the HTML editor, but still get a broken image sign…
