We sell Machines, Consumables and Spare Parts, and I was wondering if anyone has ever created a way of categorising Quotations so that they can be “Listed” by Category?
Seems pretty simple on the surface, could you not simply add a new field (Dynamic Dropdown probably) which is the Category, add it to the list/detail/edit views etc?
If you then wanted it to automatically fill you could add a bit of logic which grabbed the related product categories (probably after save logic hook or after relationship add) and using that data auto categorised.
If you don’t want to add a new field but would rather report it you could probably manage that, are you using the standard reporting module or something like kReporter?
That is why I like the Forum - as smart people make things simple. That is a great and simple solution. Thanks!
